Company's History

The enterprise Kächele in Weilheim/Teck is a family company based on tradition. By 1932 the skilled tire vulcanization expert Wilhelm Kächele had already founded a company for the production of seamless rubber products in Stuttgart-Vaihingen.

Together with 6 operators he produced household and industrial gloves. Back then the moldings were made of plaster or wood. The raw material was exclusively natural rubber.

In 1936 the young company moved to Weilheim/Teck, situated at the border of the Swabian Alps where Kächele GmbH still has its headquarters.  During the war years, the raw material natural rubber was scarce. Then Wilhelm Kächele discovered PVC as a raw material for his products.

After 1949 German industry was becoming revitalized. Heavy machines, stamping machines and presses had to be damped, motors had to be supported without vibration. These special problems were just the challenge Wilhelm Kächele needed to found the company VIBRASTOP, Gesellschaft für Erschütterungsdämpfung GmbH (Company for vibration damping (plc.)).

The year 1958 was an eventful one in the company's history. In this year, subsidiary offices were founded in Warmensteinach near Bayreuth in Upper-Franconia, as well as in Bad Vöslau in Austria. Furthermore, Kächele cooperated in rubber production in Mexico and in the Spanish company Flexix in Zamudio near Bilbao.

In 1960 Wilhelm Kächele produced the first VIBRASTOP stators for pumping and extraction systems, and barely two years later this business produced a sales percentage of 20 %.

Between 1965 and 1970 production was automated and a computer line installed.  This controlled the winding-up of orders, receipt and dispatch of goods, production, etc.

In 1978 Wilhelm Kächele GmbH and Cama Latex GmbH in Eichenzell near Fulda decided to cooperate. The result was the common company KCL = Kächele – Cama Latex.

In this way, the company has developed over the years to be a leading specialist for rubber molded articles and rubber metal parts.

Constant innovation and expansion have decided the course of the enterprise in the past two decades, too. Since about 1989 Kächele has developed products for the shoe and sports industry, and in 1991 a process control system was introduced.

Kächele continues investing into the future and extends its location in Weilheim continuously. In 2002 a new administrative building was constructed, which was inaugurated on 19 October 2002 in the context of a large company party. This building offers our customers and suppliers a pleasant discussion surrounding field and our staff the most modern jobs.

Based on the positive order situation, the most important investment in the history of Kächele was determined. About 7.200 sqm additional production area and a fully automatic high rack storage area for about 2.500 pallet units now offer new possibilities to expand the annual turnover. Construction began with a ground-breaking ceremony on January 9th, 2006 and could already be completed by November 2006.

On Saturday, 21 April 2007, the Wilhelm Kächele GmbH celebrated its 75th company anniversary in the Limburghalle in Weilheim/Teck. In the course of the feastful celebration the director / chief executive officer Bruno Kächele has been awarded with the medal for economics of the state of Baden-Württemberg.

The new Kaechele facility in Houston, Texas started warehousing operations in the beginning of 2009. This step increases the presence of Kaechele in the immediate vicinity of its customers in the northern American market and enables optimized logistics procedures which guarantees the full supply of Kächele's products in a strong economy sector.
